In December 2022 Njordr submitted a permit application to build the Galmsjömyran wind farm in Sandvikens Municipality in Gävleborgs County. The project is located to the northwest part of the municipality approximately 20 kilometer northwest of Sandviken. The wind farm is planned to consist of 21 wind turbines with a maximum total height of 280 meters. Expected production from the wind farm is 440 GWh per year.

Consultations have been carried out, where Njordr and the environmental consultant Ecogain have informed about and collected views on the planned wind farm. Investigations and field inventories have been carried out i.a. applicable natural values, birds, bats and archaeological remains. Furthermore, the visibility of the wind turbines has been analysed. The conclusions from the investigations have shown that the largest part of the original project area is suitable for wind power. The final layout means that the number of wind turbines has been reduced from 40 to 21 turbines.

Emission reduction:

The electricity that the wind farm would produce can, by replacing fossil fuels in Sweden and in our neighboring countries, reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by approximately 252,000 tons a year. This corresponds to 19 percent of the total emissions in the whole of Gävleborg, which in 2018 amounted to 1.3 million tons.

Compensation to the local community:

Njordr always pays a share of the sales income from the electricity production towards the local community's associations and development.
